If in some odd, unreal world I was ever allowed to curate an art gallery, I would just organise it as “art featuring boats”, “art without boats” and “has some clouds”, “contains the colour orange”, etc.
I just remembered how boys in class, back in school, would purposefully talk about the p**n they watched, in front of us girls. Or brag about their p**n collection.
I also remember when our school sent a bunch of kids to Russia for Model UN, and when they came back, this boy asked our male teacher (who was one of the chaperones) if “the merchandise was any good”. And he replied, laughing, “well, if you are talking about the women! …”
I find it hard to describe how much men access our spaces on a daily basis. How much they view women as commodities.
who are these people who start their assignments TWO WEEKS earlier?
Dhaka, Bangladesh: A ferryman paddles a sampan across the Buriganga River. The small wooden boats weave between larger ferries and cut across the paths of commercial container ships on one of the world’s most dangerous waterways.
